Privacy Policy

• We do not sell your data, rent it out, or use it for advertising.
• We collect only what we need to run the service, keep it secure, and meet our legal obligations.
• We keep enough information to know who owns each site, so that if a site is used for illegal activity we can act on it and, where needed, report it to the competent authorities in Iraq.
• You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Deleting your data").

When you create an account and build a site:

• Your phone number, which you use to sign in through WhatsApp, and your name and profile picture if you add them.
• What you put on your site: your business name, logo, colours, address, products, prices, photos, descriptions and similar content.
• Posts you import from Instagram: when you ask us to, we fetch the public posts and media of the Instagram account you name and use them to fill in your site.

When you use eleme.dev or a site hosted on it:

• Technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the time of each request. We use it to protect the service from abuse (for example, by limiting repeated sign-in attempts) and to investigate misuse.
• A security check from Cloudflare Turnstile when you sign in, which confirms that you are a person and not an automated program.
• Cookies that keep you signed in and remember your language. We also save your choice of light or dark theme in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across other websites.

When you message us on WhatsApp:

• Your WhatsApp number and the messages you send to our business number, such as a sign-in code.

When someone places an order, makes a booking or sends an inquiry through a site built on eleme, the site collects what its form asks for, such as name, phone number, email, delivery address, notes and attached files. We store and process this information on behalf of the business that owns the site, so that it can fulfil the request. That business decides what it collects and is responsible for how it uses it. We use this information only to provide the service, for example to send an order confirmation on WhatsApp, and never for our own marketing.

If you have a question about an order, contact the business directly. You can also contact us, and we will pass your request on or help where we can.

• To create and run your account and publish your site.
• To sign you in, and to send you the WhatsApp messages you ask for, such as sign-in links and order confirmations.
• To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To answer your messages and give you support.
• To meet our legal obligations, including cooperating with lawful requests from the competent authorities in Iraq.

eleme hosts sites for many businesses. To make sure the service is not used for illegal activity, we keep records that identify who owns and manages each site, including the account's phone number and the site's history.

If a site breaks the law or our Terms of Service, we will first ask its owner to fix the problem where that is appropriate. If the owner does not comply, or the matter is serious, we may suspend or remove the site and report it to the competent legal authorities in Iraq, together with the information we hold about it. We also disclose information when we are required to by law, by a court order, or by a lawful request from a government authority.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only in these cases:

• Service providers that run parts of eleme for us, under agreements that allow them to use the data only for that purpose: Cloudflare (network delivery and security), Meta (WhatsApp messages), Neon (database hosting) and Oracle Cloud (servers and email delivery).
• Payment providers, when a payment is made, to process it. We do not store full card numbers.
• The business that owns a site, which receives the orders, bookings and inquiries its customers send through it.
• Legal authorities, as described in "Legal purposes and reporting".
• A buyer or successor, if eleme is ever merged or sold, who must protect your information as this policy describes.

Our servers and service providers may be located outside Iraq, including in Europe and the United States. Wherever your information is stored, we protect it as this policy describes.

• We keep your account and site data for as long as your account is active.
• When you delete your account or one of your sites, we remove its content from the service within 30 days.
• We keep a limited record (your phone number, the sites you owned, and the security logs related to them) for up to 2 years after deletion, or longer if a legal matter or a request from the authorities requires it. We keep it only for the legal purposes described above, and then delete it.
• Security records such as sign-in attempt counters and one-time sign-in links expire on their own, usually within minutes to days.

You can ask us to delete your account and your personal data at any time:

1. Send a WhatsApp message to +1 711 239 1872 from the number you sign in with, or email [email protected] and include your phone number.
2. Write "Delete my account". If you have more than one site, say which sites you want removed.
3. We may ask you to confirm the request from your WhatsApp number, so that nobody else can delete your account.

We complete the deletion within 30 days and tell you when it is done. This includes any data we received from Meta (WhatsApp or Instagram). Data we must keep for legal purposes, described in "How long we keep information", is kept separately and deleted when that period ends.

If you are a customer of a site built on eleme, contact that business, or contact us and we will help.

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), make sign-in links single-use and short-lived, store sign-in and confirmation tokens only in a form that cannot be reversed (hashed), and limit access to personal data to the people who need it to run eleme. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you.

eleme is made for businesses. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below.

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new date and, if the changes are significant, let account owners know on WhatsApp or on eleme.dev.
